Frank understood..


exactly what his football philosophy was and what gave him the best chance to establish a consistent winner and build long term program stability, a goal that VT had never achieved in its entire football history. Stinespring and Bud both understood Frank and their respective roles in the overall staff. Both of those guys also understood their own individual strengths and weaknesses, a self awareness that, coupled with their loyalty to CFB, contributed to the actual length of their respective tenures at VT. In terms of BF and BS staying at VT, it is also worth considering how many VT assistants during Beamer's tenure went on to enjoy equal or greater coaching success(as a head and/or assistant) after leaving VT.
